The old Carl's Jr. french fries are gone for good, but I can still remember them
Reconstituted? They were crinkley and delicious ... kinda crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If I am remembering correctly, they were reconstituted and arrived in big white cartons (like a half-gallon milk carton, but bigger); the batter was poured into the fry machine and it was magic from there. Perhaps they arrived frozen and pre-formed, but I don't think so. They were the Pringles of french fries!
The Ketchup PacketsThe ketchup came in a tiny white plastic tub, with a foil top that pulled off for dipping.
When did they go?I think it was in the late 80s ... I can remember the astonished look on our faces when the ketchup tubs were replaced by packets and the fries turned into pseudo-McD's fries. Blech. |
